James Topetzes

Jim Topetzes joined TriUnity Law Group in May 2024. Jim has practiced corporate and securities law for over 30 years, principally representing technology-development companies, venture-capital and private-equity firms, and institutional or individual acquirors.  Jim’s expertise is largely in the areas of corporate governance; securities law compliance in the context of public and private debt and equity financings; fund formation and financing; executive compensation; equity incentives for founders, employees, consultants and independent directors; mergers and acquisitions; and joint ventures. While his clients have represented a wide range of industries, Jim’s practice has been focused on the requirements of software, hardware, biotechnology and medical device companies. Prior to joining TriUnity, Jim was Managing Member of Topetzes Law Group, LLC and previously worked at the law firms of Palmer & Dodge, LLP (now Locke Lord) and Foley & Lardner LLP.  He received his BA degree from the University of Michigan, with highest honors, and his JD from the University of Chicago. He has also served on the Boards of Directors or Trustees of many for-profit and charitable organizations. Jim is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.
